At Warren Road, we are lucky to have a designated ELSA, Family Worker and Listening Ear. Through the referral system, it is decided what level of support a child needs. These include:
- Close monitoring and liaison with the class teacher
- Check ins at play and lunch by any member of the team
- Listening Ear chats at play or lunch
- Invitation to Forest School
- Playground Pal training
- Lunchtime club
If the child requires more intensive support they may be offered:
- 1:1 session with Mrs Aielo
- Resilience group sessions with Mrs Aielo
- Grief work with Mrs Aielo
If a child or family requires further support from a trained professional we will help the family refer themselves or the child to Bromley Children’s Project or Bromley Y (CAMHS).
If you want to know more about these organisations then please see our newsletter titled ‘Bromley Family Support Services’
Young careers
A young carer is someone aged 25 and under who cares for a friend or family member who, due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction, cannot cope without their support. Older young carers are also known as young adult carers and they may have different support needs to younger carers.
If you consider your child to be a young carer, please contact familyworker@warrenroad.lseat.org.uk so we can look at how we can support your child and your family.
Bromley Well Young Carers Service supports Young Carers aged 4 -19 who are helping to support or care for a parent, sibling, friend or relative at home.
Please see their recent newsletters to find out more about the work they do with young carers. To contact them about support for your child- please contact Lorna: 07598 828070 or Hannah: 07594 091769 youngcarers@bromleywell.org.uk
School Curriculum
Mental health and wellbeing is covered in our school curriculum in lots of different subjects as well as the PSHE/RSE programme. We also use our REACH aspirations to teach and encourage children to have positive aspirations for their mental health. Additionally, our assembly programme is carefully planned out and ensures we cover all mental health related topics throughout the year.
